Passing EOC username and password in URL

Is it possible to EOC username and password in the EOC URL

This is what I have tried:

192.168.252.252/Default.aspx

I have this working for Orion

192.168.119.82/.../SummaryView.aspx

Any help would be appreciated.

Since EOC's website uses NTLM authentication, the simple answer to your question is no, but maybe you can describe what you are trying to accomplish and there may be other means to achieve what you are looking for.

For instance, if you are just trying to avoid entering in the credentials on a box, then you can have Windows do it for you. Go to the Control Panel, and open the "User Accounts" application. On the Advanced tab, click the "Manage Passwords" button. Then click "Add". Enter in the name of the EOC web server that you use in the URL and also the NT credentials that you want it to log on as.

But if you are trying to do something else, like scripting, then there are ways to provide the credentials in the scripting objects that make the http request.

Hi David,

Thank you for your reply.

What I am trying to achieve is generate a url which is authenticated.

Basically I'm using Cisco's new 4400G Digitial Media player and it will only accept a url - there is no possibility to enter a username or password - poor for a media player I know!!

I want to display EOC on this but my just have to use a PC if I can’t get this to work.

So you should be able to provide it the URL and follow the steps above for the "User Accounts". That way when the browser is launched, it will use the credentials that you entered and authenticate the call to the EOC website.

Thank you David.

Unfortunately the device I'm using only has the capability of displaying a URL - I wouldn't be launching the browser from from windows.

I simply enter a URL on the interface of the Digitial Media player.
