Hi Dfairles--

You'll need to remove the Windows/Linux devices from the left-hand tree in NCM. You can do this by modifying the Win32GUI.

But I still need all device types for Inventory purposes, so I can't delete items.

You might want to try creating a new custom property to use in grouping your nodes. You won't be able to hide them, but you should be able to collapse the groups you don't want to see listed out.
