We are having problems retrieving configuration from few devices in our environment. As far as I can see, they are not supported out-of-the-box, and before I decide to spend time trying to build custom device command template, I'd like to be sure it can be done.
Devices we are having problem retrieving configuration from are:
- LinkSys/Cisco SR2024 switch – device uses menu based management; before entering user/information (telnet/SSH), user needs to press ENTER to position itself in username box; there is a hidden CLI, user needs to login first
- QLogic iSR6142 – only way to retrieve configuration file from device is to FTP to device and get it.
Basically, I would like to know if FTP access can be used in device command templates and whether we can script that “ENTER” that is required before entering username.
In case it is possible, and examples would really be appreciated.
