Perl Script not containing output

I'm working with my AIX admin and we're having issues with running the below Perl script. I've included the output error that we're receiving. We're using the Linux/Unix Script Monitor component. The credentials are correct and working on other components.

I think we need a third or thousand set of eyes as we are stuck as to why it's not providing output.

Looks like SAM isn't getting the columns needed from the script.

Need some statistic or numeric column to exist in the output.

One required field and one optional field.

The required field is 'Statistic' and the optional is 'message'.

SAM will use up to 10 statistic values for alerting, and plotting graphs.

Your script provides up/down, but, numeric value is needed to map to the statistic value.

The Linux/Unix script monitor expects your script to return a few things:

A string that reads "Statistic: x" where x is the value you want to keep as a statistic, and an exit code that tells what status it should return.

Optionally you can return a message in addition to your statistic value.

Exit Code Meaning

0: Up status

1: Down status

2: Warning status

3: Critical status

Any other value: Unknown status

Also it seems that you didn't use command line arguments in your script so your command line is just this:

perl ${SCRIPT}

I modified your script so that it should work but I can't test it.

$prdvg = 'lsvg -o | grep prdvg';

chomp $prdvg;

if ($prdvg ne "prdvg"){

print "Statistic: 0";

print "Message: $prdvg Volume Group Down\n";

exit 0

}else{

print "Statistic: 1";

print "Message: $prdvg Volume Group Up\n";

exit 1

}
