Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
Cirrus v3.5
jonchill
One of the new features is the ability to get notifications of live config changes in Cirrus but for this you need Cirrus to reside on the same box as Orion as it uses the Syslog\Trap servers.
My qestion is has anyone got Cirrus and Orion on the same box and have they had any issues with them on the same box?
Thanks
Jon

We have Cirrus and Orion running on the same box and we have not had any problems with either one.

Ditto here... No problems... Running Orion, Cirrus, and the SW Syslog and Trap servers.

We are quite new to Cirrus, as we are just now beginning to play around with the eval, and we are seriously considering making a purchase. My concern with putting it on the same server with Orion is the fact that the security piece of Cirrus doesn't have the flexibility and granularity that we would like; such as being able to assign roles, or areas of responsibility that can be controlled via tacacs. This, in conjunction with the fact that it's not fully web-enabled, leaves the only option of using Terminal Services to use the app. We might want certain people to be able to run reports and such in Cirrus, but not to have access to make changes to the Orion installation, but if they have TS access to this server, they can get to all the config utilities for Orion as well.
In summary, I personally would like to see Cirrus become fully web-enabled, as well as taking on a more robust security mechanism before installing it on the same server with Orion.
