Orion NCM Integration with Orion gives "Bad Data"

I have read over a couple of other posts on the subject from a while back, and still have the same problem. I am trying to get the integration to work with the Configs from NCM showing in the Orion Web Console. I have a Primary Poller/Website, as well as an Additional Web Server. The problem is happening on both.

When I vew the portlets on the main Network Summary page, I get:

The Orion server cannot access the Orion NCM information service. The exact error was 'Bad Data. '

When I click through on Credentials I get:

Orion Website Error

An error has occurred with the Orion website.

I have seen suggestions of re-installing, etc. I have checked over everything (I think) and appear tohave no other issues with my installation, yet, I'm still seeing problems.

Can someone please help?

ETA - Installed, I have NCM 5.1.1 and Orion 9.1 SP 4.

I think your best bet is to open a support ticket on this one, so we can try to reproduce and get dev engaged to help. Please include a link to this post in your ticket.

I ran into the same issue and openned a ticket, I figured it out on my own after awhile though.

If you open the NPM database and query the webusersettings table you will find under the user names having this problem an entry in the 2nd column called SettingName that refers to cirrus (the old name for NCM) - there are two, CirrusISPassword and CirrusISUserName - delete those rows.

Thank you for your response. This actually did lead to my solution, but may or may not have been the same issue.

I started off like you suggested, and removed the rows out of the table for my account that have a setting name of:
CirrusIsFirstTime
CirrusISPassword
CirrusISUserName

Then, I went in and was able to add the NCM Credentials using the Web UI, and everything worked like you suggested.

Wanting to see what the difference was, when I reset my NCM credentials in the Web UI for Orion, I used the "webviewer" account. This allowed me to look at another account that I didn't think was working, and I noticed that the "CirrusISPassword" line for the accounts were different. When I updated the encrypted string from my account which was working, to the one that wasn't updated, I was able to log in and view the configs.

My theory is that the upgraded NCM needs to update the encrypted password value when the new version is installed. I'm going to open a case, referencing this thread.

The integration worked for ages for me, when I rebooted the server I started getting the "The Certificate is Invalid" and "Bad Data" error messages

As suggested, deleting

CirrusIsFirstTime
CirrusISPassword
CirrusISUserName

Worked for me too.. If it happens again I will log a support call.

I also ran into this issue with the install of the 5.5.2 integration module - but only on one of my web servers.

Support pointed me to this thread.

Once I deleted these userid's and re-entered the credentials, then the additional web server was able to access the NCM page - but in doing so broke the previously working primary web server.

It would currently appear that the design of the integration module only allows a single web server to have this working. Currently following up with support.
