We're in the middle of converting our monitoring station from Nagios to SolarWinds. Unfortunately, what Nagios does out of the box seems impossible at this time with SolarWinds, though it's kind of a simple feature. All we're looking for is the ability to acknowledge an alert, and then add a comment. Furthermore, we would need a resource (a report or resource actually) that can be shown on the home page that shows the alert, whether it was acknowledged, and a brief comment (say ticket number).
We're running NPM version 9.5, so the post regarding ASP code isn't valid anymore (?PageIndex=1), though that seems like it would have been a perfect solution before NPM 9.5.
I've also reviewed the posts about converting ASP to ASP.NET (). Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer.
I've tried creating reports based on triggered alerts and events, but the report either shows all the events where an alert was triggered (regardless of whether they are now cleared).
I would think this kind of thing would be inherent in any monitoring software, and I'm kind of scratching my head on how this was left out of SolarWinds.
TIA,
Brian
