Report Listing All Interfaces for a Juniper Switch

Question

I need to create a report that lists all the interfaces on a Juniper switch (mostly ex4300s).

Using the web report creator, I can list all the interfaces being monitored (the ones checked under 'List Resources'), however I can't seem to get it to list all of them.

You could probably filter a query against some of these tables.  But your discovery would have to catch all desired devices and interfaces.  You would not see what you had not configured a discovery job to find.

Hi Chris,

We don't currently have UDT, haven't found a use case to justify the cost. Perhaps this might tip the case.

Is it accurate that the port information is in the database? Could someone (not me) create a custom SQL request to collect all the ports and then use the report tool to format it?

Do you have User Device Tracker (UDT)?

NPM will only give you interfaces that you are currently monitoring so at the moment your two options would be to monitor every interface and then exclude certain ones from alerts then you'll be allowed to report on them. Alternatively if you have UDT then you can make them a UDT monitored port and report on that and it shouldnt impact your alerting.

In SolarWinds interfaces and ports are two different items. Think of interface as the object where you get your status, and utilization. Think of ports as more of an inventory with expanded information on whats plugged in.
