Upgrade

Hii..

I am having an Orion Environment in 2018.2 with NPM 12.3, NTA 4.2.3 (Seperate NTA Store on a WIn Server), UDT 3.3.1. The current Database is SQL 2012 SP2.

I am aware that i need to do an SQL Upgrade to SQL Server 2017 or latest and an extra Database for the NetFlow.

My query is as follows:

a) Do i need to upgrade DB first or Application First.

b) If i am preparing DB on a seperate Server, can i restore it from the current SQL Server 2012 SP2 to the SQL Server 2017 or latest. (If any DB expert, could you please assist on how to taking a back up and restoring to Server 2017)

c) My current sizes are as below:

This is for the period from February, 2019.

If any DB guy reccomend the best size required based on these values for 2 Databases.
