moving to vm

Recently our server admin decided he wanted to move off our physical box and move the main NPM box to vm. We own NPM,NTA,APM, user device tracker. Is this possible to make the change? We are at about 12k elements and we havne't even added stuff for apm or NTA yet. It's purely network and UPS's. I was just looking for some ammo so we don't have to make that change. Thanks

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I having been running NPM, UDT, NCM and APM on virtual machines with no issues.

My setup is below

NPM + APM web + UDT web is on own VM

NCM is on own VM

I have two pollers on ther own VM with UDT poller installed.

All the specs are the same, 2 x CPU and 4 GIG of mem and 50 GIG of disk space per VM.

The database resides on a MS SQL network cluster.

The amount of elements I am polling from the two pollers is 7000 and this is polling at 60 secound stats collection rate for devices and interfaces.

Mine is running in VMware and I love it too.

1 poller 4 vCPUs & 8gb RAM server 2008R2. I have been seeing things where SolarWinds is recommending 8GB now and since it is VM, I just added the extra RAM, no reboot required - heck I didn't even have to leave my desk! (You would have to have 2008R2 to do that)

We have NPM, NCM, IPAM, and the Engineer Toolset running on 1 VM with 2000 nodes. We have another VM with APM running (pretty new so small but growing). We have a few other NPM servers spread out covering different regions. Then we have a third VM with EOC on it to tie them all together into 1 nice wrapper of a web page.
