Hi all,
just installed the shiny new SAM 5.2 to get all the new goodies - and I'm having a bit of confusion over HyperV support. I was assuming that it would just pick up my HyperV boxes automatically or that I just had to click a button like "Poll for HyperV" or something similar - however it seems nothing like this exists. I couldn't seem to find anything in the online manuals regarding enabling HyperV (new links on the main page of SAM didn't work btw...) and after trawling through some posts about the beta I noticed it seems I have to switch to WMI instead of SNMP. Is this correct? I've tried on one of my nodes and indeed HyperV now appears as an option when I list resources. Problem with this is that now I've lost all my SNMP pollers from UNDP as well as interface statistics(!). I've also lost all my hardware monitoring of the server!! Surely I'm doing something wrong here - I want to keep using SNMP and simply add the HyperV visibility...
Can someone enlighten me if this is correct or indeed the proper method to maintain SNMP pollers and hardware health and yet get the HyperV visibility
Thanks!
Sean
