Our Orion NCM nightly backup automatically stops. Please help. Thanks!
Please provide some more info. Are you saying the backup of the NCM database stops or the job backing up all the configs stops.
The job backing up all the configs stops. Thanks
activate session tracing > Settings > NCM Settings> Advanced Settings> and check “Enable Session Tracing” afterwards go to the specific folder and look for the error.
how many devices do you have? do you have a suggestion? problems on your server or connectivity problems?
When I tried to download the configs manually , it is not successful , there is an error (ConfigMgmtEngine8 - Runtime error 0) and the program close automatically.
I cannot find the Enable Session Tracing. Connectivity is fine because I can telnet /ssh the devices from Orion NCM server. We have more than 300 cisco devices. Meanwhile, when I tried to download the configs manually, its not successfull , there is an error (ConfigMgmtEngine8 - Runtime error)
and the program close automatically.
Appreciate your help.
I also test the Nightly Config Backup and the same error appear "ConfigMgmtEngine8 - Runtime Error). I think this error causes the nightly backup is not happening.
By the way our Orion NCM is v6.1, ConfigMgmtEngine8 Version 8.3.177, User Interface Version 8.3.125
Go to Administration "Settings" (right by the Logout). Then go to "NCM-Setting" (that is beneath Column Reports and Warnings). Afterwards search the column Advanced and click on Advanced Setting. Then you got the new window to activate session tracing. Set the checkbox to activate "Enable Session Tracing" and choose which log types you want to trace. The default location is prompted and should be something like that: "{NCMInstallDir}\Session-Trace"
I cannot find this in Orion NCM Window. By the way I tried manual backup and same error appears "ConfigMgmtEngine8-Runtime Error".
You are using an old version of NCM so it may not have the Session Tracing option. If this has all been working fine and recently failed, you should log a support case with Solarwinds. If it has never worked, then try reloading NCM again.
