I have the OID to return the 5 minute CPU usage on my Enterasys N7 gear but the value is returned at 46 which means 4.6%. Is there a way to have Solarwinds display it in this format?
thanks
I've managed to do this with the alerting engine using SQL commands in the output text, but also have the same problem with my microwave radios reporting RSL levels in units*10... I can report the correct value in an alert, but my graphs of my receive levels report -500 instead of -50.0db. Since solarwinds simply graphs what's given to it by your gear there may not be a way to manipulate this data on a continual basis.
Would be a great feature though to be able to modify the returned data on a custom poller *before* it's inserted into the database. Solarwinds... Puhleeese? :-)
I also have the same problem. I was asked to use a custom poller to graph the current used by an APC PDU. The snmp response is 124 for 12.4 A. I would love to have the custom poller divide by 10 for me.
Denny/Solarwinds, is this feature already on the requested features list? I have seen that SNMP tables support is upcoming and just wanted to make sure that this feature was on the list too.
I agree, this is something that would be very useful. I have had some success working around this by setting the custom poller MIB Value Type to Raw Value and then selecting Enumeration for the Type. You can then Map the raw values to the values you want. The down side is this can be cumbersome if you have a large range of values. For example you would have to make 201 mapping entries to convert the possible values that could be returned for the amperage readings on a 20 amp circuit (0 - 200).
Yep. We're hoping to get it into the next release, but, as always, I make no promises. Things get cut, but it a very high priority.
Hi euphorik,
Could you please tell me how did you manage to report correct value in alerts, how did you divide it by 10? I could not do even this!
Thnx,
