I finally got RTCD working using SNMP and was pretty happy. That lasted for about 30 minutes when over 70 notifications of changes to my test switch started pouring into my inbox. I looked at the trap viewer and sure enough, I was getting traps related to the switch I'm testing with. Strange thing is that if I turn off the rule that has the configautodownload.exe action tied to it then the traps stop coming into the trap viewer. I would have expected the notification to stop and the traps to continue. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Why would the traps be generated in the first place - nothing has changed.
The equipment I'm monitoring is a Cisco 3750. Here is a sample of the traps I'm getting.
