We've had the Windows Event Forwarder for a long time. It turns Windows event logs into Syslog messages and forwards them to Orion's Syslog server. It's available for every Orion customer who is current on maintenance.
The old version didn't work on 64-bit Windows. The new version does. There are no other changes, and you have to uninstall the old version first.
Summary:
- If you own no 64-bit Windows, don't worry about it. This does nothing for you
- If you do own some 64-bit Windows Servers, then rejoice. You can now use WEF on those servers.
Sorry we took so long to add this functionality, but the needs are many and the engineers are few.
