I see on the Database Details page of my web site that I have a certain number of pollers. What is a poller exactly?
You have Additional Pollers installed. Additional Pollers allow you to increase the monitoring capacity of your Orion installation by enabling multiple monitoring engines that work in parallel across your network.
Do you mean "custom MIB pollers"? I have only configured eight new custom pollers so where does the number 217 come from for pollers? Is this the number of out of the box pollers that run on my Orion polling engine?
sorry, I was referring to Polling Engines, the number beside Pollers' represents th number of polls for status, statistics, etc.. per element, node, volumes and interfaces, as qle mentions...
That is what I thought was the case. So, does that mean that each poller collects data for a specific data type such as CPU Load or some other SNMP data?
