can this be done?

When a Map is created and populated with objects and has a summary at the bottom of the map (when viewed in the Orion web site) - can that "Summary" part be edited?

Typically this summary includes Object Name - Object Type - Object Status.

Is there any way to include Node Variables like current $CPULoad - $TotalMemory - etc into this "Summary"?

It is definitely possible but there is one way that I can think of doing it so far, it requires a bit of work though. How many maps do you have?

we have two rows of eight cabinets per row full of servers (~ 200 servers)

i put them all in two maps - Front Row & Rear Row map names.

Well this way may not be seem the most efficient way but for now it's the only way I can think of doing it. Basically if you want to be able to put device stats on the same page as maps you have to create a custom page with viewing limitations for that page only and then create a separate option for it in the menu bar - Explained below:

First open your web GUI for Orion, and select the "Admin" menu from the top toolbar. On the left side of the screen select the "Manage Views" option in the Admin menu column. This will bring up all of the different types of views you have for pages in Orion such as "Current top 10's, Network Trends, Node List" etc.

What you want to do is create your own new view by selecting the "Add" button. The next window you will be presented with is the "Add New View" window. This requires you to give your new view a name and also you must select the type of view it will be. Selecting the type of view is important as each type will give you extra options for monitoring in that category i.e. if you select "interface details" you will have more options for interface monitoring later on when you are compiling the page.

Depending what you are monitoring in the maps will affect which option you pick. For this explanation I have gone with "Node Details"

The next screen is the "Customize" screen. This is where you build and compile your view. As default you will be given 2 columns for a map view you only need 1, however you could place both maps at half there size on the 1 screen if you so wish.

You can edit the columns using the "edit" button beside the column width figures. Once you are happy with the number of columns you can start adding in menu options by clicking on the green plus sign associated with that column. From here you can add the map and whichever stat readings you want.

Ok so now that you have selected which stat views you want; now you need to place a view limitation on the page so Orion will only show stats from the devices on the map. Near the bottom is another "edit" button for the view limitation option, select this and you will be presented with the limitation options. I presume the option you would want is 2^nd from the top "Group of Nodes". Select this option and all you do is pick the corresponding devices displayed on the map. (To make life easier have a copy of the map you're working on open or the Map maker)

When this is done your page is complete. But first you MUST preview the page first for 2 reasons. 1. To check everything is as you want it and 2. You need to copy the URL in the address bar onto the clipboard. When finished close the preview page and hit done.

Now on your Admin menu bar on the left hand side of the screen select "Customize Menu Bars" Select a menu bar you wish to edit. In the next window hit the Green plus sign. Then scroll down to the bottom of the next screen and select "Add Custom Menu Item"

This is where you will need to use the URL you took from the preview page. Give your page a name and description after pasting the URL into the "URL" window and then all you have to do is hit submit and you're done.

You should have the new option in your top menu bar. To add the same options to other menu bars you can just select the menu bar you wish to edit, click the green plus sign and you will see your newly created page option lives in the same list as the rest of your menu bar options.

I know it seems a long way to do it but I can't find another, easier way to do it. Sorry for the length of the text I wasn't sure how experienced you might be with this so I just explained everything hope it helps.
