NPM Integration fails

Did anyone find the solution to the "The Orion server cannot access the SolarWinds Information Service. The exact error was 'The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found' " error when adding integration credentials.

Both web consoles work independantly

Both NPM and NCM are on the same server which is Win 2008 R2

I see that this issue may be related to either you job engine and/or the information service

A couple of things we can try. You may be more successful doing the next few steps logged in as the local administrator and not the domain administrator.

First, go to the add/remove programs and check the version of Information servces running, is it 2.5?

Next, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers and hover your mouse over the information services MSI to get the information box, what version does it read?

If the versions do not match do the following:

Go to the add/remove programs and remove the job engine(s) and information service.

Next, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers and rename the information services MSI to something different.

Finally, run the NPM installation from the installation software and let it complete with configuration wizard then compare versions again.  Do they now match?

Is it fixed?  If not, a reboot may be necessary.
