Palo Alto Tunnel interface monitoring

HI,

We have Palo Alto Networks PA-5020 firewalls in our environment and we can see physical interfaces via SNMP version 3. We can also see utilization from these physical interfaces and tunnel interfaces. But currently we not able to do tunnel interface monitoring they all showing up and green even some of them are down.

Please can someone help.

P.S: The inserting thing I noted that in interfaces Last Status Change is showing 3/6/2017 12:56 PM and the in main core tab for the same device is showing Last Boot Monday, March 6, 2017 12:56 PM

How do the tunnel interfaces appear in an SNMPwalk?

Those tunnel interfaces that NPM able to monitor natively are the logical interfaces like our your normal ports.

Excerpt from Our SNMPWalk

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.400000010 = STRING: "tunnel.10"

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.400000011 = STRING: "tunnel.11"

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.400000020 = STRING: "tunnel.20"

In My case, just one example tunnel

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.400000070 = STRING: "tunnel.70"

IfOperStatus

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.400000170 = INTEGER: 1 (1 is Up, 2 is Down)

ifHCInOctets (Received BPS) - If this counter didn't increment on the next poll, this means the Received is 0

.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.400000170 = COUNTER64: 9970349

ifHCOutOctets (Transmit BPS) - If this counter didn't increment on the next poll, this means the Transmit is 0

.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10.400000170 = COUNTER64: 414240

All the values are provided by your device, NPM just get's those values and store then show it to web console. f your device providing incorrect data, then NPM will show it as well as we conclude “All the values are provided by your device, NPM just gets those values and store then show it to web console. this can be achieved by enabling traps from the device end towards Solarwinds server... then that trap can be converted into an alert
