Netware process monitor

I am new to solarwinds and monitoring tools in general, i have been searching through the forums and can not find an answer so I apologize if it has been answered elsewhere. I have several netware servers running groupwise and I need to make sure that the groupwise server process is up and running and get an alert if it is not. I tried setting up in APM a process monitor but whatever process I put in there comes back with node failed with down status. I assume that I am way off on the wrong track, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction with an example of monitoring something simple.

The template below might help get you started, but failing that you can create your own template for monitoring processes using the "Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters" under <Settings -> APM Settings - > Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters> Select "Processes Monitor - SNMP" then select your Groupwise server. All processes running on this server should be listed. Select the processes you want to monitor and walk through the rest of the wizard to add these monitored components to an existing application template, or a create a new one.
