Application Assignment Profile (Automate Application Assignment)

I think it would be really nice if it were possible to create Application Assignment Profiles. This would be a mechanism where Application Templates would automatically be assigned to nodes (likely as part of the re-discovery process) that meet your pre-defined criteria which could also include a component that tells it how to decide which Credential to use.

These profiles or pre-defined criteria would look a lot like the Advanced Alert Trigger conditions; at least that is how it goes in my head.

Would love to hear if others have interest in this or improvements upon the idea!

We're definitely looking at ways we can improve the application discovery process. Would you agree that if the application discovery process was perhaps more intelligent, accurate, and schedulable that this might address most of what you're looking to do?

Yes, this is essentially what I am looking for. However, the credential part is a big piece for me as well. I continue to have problems with APM due to the way Credentials are designed to be applied.

This is a well understood problem that we're looking for creative solutions to. I can't promise anything but it's on our radar.
