I would like to use Atlas on my local PC to create / edit maps in Orion. How does Atlas connect to Orion? Does it require a Db connection or just to the NPM?
Please let me know.

We require your NPM credentials to login, but I think what you are asking for is we connect via port 17777 to the Orion server. Is that what you needed?

Your local PC needs to be able to connect to the Orion NPM/EOC server over port tcp/17777.
That's all the requirements for running remote Network Atlas. I'll make sure to get that mentioned in the docs.
Thank you for your assistance. I was able to get Atlas going w/that. But, I was editing a map...trying to save it when Atlas said it had a problem and had to close. I lost all of my work. I guess I should save more often. Thoughts?
Sorry you had an issue and lost your work. Can you submit a ticket in support so they can get the logs and see exactly what error you hit so we can address. Please reference this thread.
I have noticed the response can be quite slow sometimes and I have also had it crash out on me, lucky at the time I was not doing any work on the maps.
Also maps take an age to save.
