Custom MIB Poller and RAID

Hey guys, here is my thing..

I have a request from my server team to monitor RAID status via Orion. What I am wondering is how do I setup a custom MIB poller for multiple Logical Volumes on my RAID adapter?

I can browse the information with the mib browser. When I snmpwalk the thing, I can see that there are 5 disks in the raid.

Do I just have to manually set these up? Custom poller for each disk? or is there some kind of walk like utility I can use?

There are a couple of ways to do this. First, if they are truly logical volumes that you want to monitor, then you may not need to use the custom MIB Poller at all. If you right-click on the device and choose "List Resources" to the volumes that you want to monitor show up there? If so, you can select them for monitoring and away you go.

If however you're wanting to monitor the physical drives within the RAID array, you'll want to use the custom MIB poller just like you've done thus far and select each of the drives and the specific OIDs (status, available space, etc) that you want to monitor. You'll need to add each volume and its respective statistic/status as a separate custom MIB Poller.

Also, most RAID arrays offer the ability to send SNMP Traps when errors are detected. Orion includes a trap receiver and can be configured to alert you whenever these types of traps are received.

Hello All,

We are currently running Orion v8.5.1.0. and Finally successfully migrating from the old server to a new one. We a RAID Disk on the Server, NPM able to discover it But we are unabble to monitor it This was Brought to my Notice Today. Do we need an additional Configuration To Montor This?
