APM Credentials

In APM, is there a way to see what credentials are being used for what monitor? I've even tried editing the current monitors and when I go down to look at the credentials, the current ones aren't listed. It basically prompts me to pick some new credentials.

I'm trying to determine what monitors a particular credential is set up for.

This sql query will give you a list of all the overridden credentials in use.

create a custom report of type sql and use the following sql:

select
    Nodes.caption 'Node',
    APM_Credentials.Name 'Credential Name',
    APM_Application.Name 'Application Name',
    APM_Component.name 'Component'
from
    APM_Credentials,APM_Component,APM_ComponentSetting,APM_Application,Nodes
where
    APM_ComponentSetting."Key"='__CredentialSetId' and
    APM_ComponentSetting.ComponentID = APM_Component.ID and
    APM_ComponentSetting.Value = APM_Credentials.ID and
    APM_Component.ApplicationId = APM_Application.ID and
    APM_Application.NodeID = Nodes.NodeID

Cavet: I'm not a dba and I don't like joins.

Heck, it might even give you everything you are looking for.

I see what you mean - no place does it show what the credential assignment is for the monitor.

This is either an oversight or else a security-feature to not be waving around the credentials in use.

Maybe a security "feature" but considering the GUI can be locked down, and I have credentials to access the administration portion, seems more like an oversight to me.

Without true AD integration, these credentials don't get updated when an AD account gets updated.

The tables must have changed recently, because APM_Credentials exists but is empty in my installation. The query that works for me (with joins!) is:

select
Nodes.Caption as Node,
Nodes.Nodeid,
APM_Application.Name as Application,
APM_Component.Name as Component,
Credential.Name as Credential
from APM_ComponentSetting
join APM_Component on APM_Component.ID = APM_ComponentSetting.ComponentID
join Credential on Credential.ID = APM_ComponentSetting.Value
join APM_Application on APM_Component.ApplicationId = APM_Application.ID
join Nodes on APM_Application.NodeID = Nodes.NodeID
where APM_ComponentSetting."Key" = '__CredentialSetId'

Note that - for me, at least - I had to quote the "Key" field because Key is a reserved word; and the actual field value contains a double underscore ("__") instead of just a single one ("_").
