APM3 Install - install on web server

Maybe this will help others, but if you have a dedicated web box you need to run the APM3 install on that as well. I did not see where the release notes mentioned that. In fact I think it specifically says NPM server.

Good catch. Yes, you are correct. That installer will install APM, the additional poller, and the additional web server.

what about if we have an additional SLX pollr witht he APM module installed... is there a new poller module or do i run the main installer on it too

Just run the same installer. The APM installer detects what "type" of Orion you are installing on (Full, Web Only, Additional Poller) and installs the corresponding APM files.

The release notes and the installation chapter of the APM Administrator Guide include the following warning in the installation section:

If you have additional Orion APM Web Consoles or pollers, upgrade them at the same time as your Orion APM server.

But because it's not in the actual installation steps I can see how that could be easy to miss. We'll move that text to make it clearer.
