Error when Exporting to PDF - The remote name could not be resolved

Hi,

Background: I recently upgraded from the latest APM to SAM.

I am not able to export pages to PDF. I receive the error "Export to PDF failed. Err: The remote name could not be resolved: 'solarwinds-orion'

I don't know if this problem did or did not exist before upgrading. There seem to be no related errors in the windows event log.

This occurs both when accessing the SAM site from a remote computer and when accessing the SAM site on the SAM Server.

Has anyone encountered this?

I can't say I've ever seen this exact error message before but is it possible that the hostname "solarwinds-orion" does not resolve on the SAM server? You may want to create a local host file entry on the SAM server so this hostname resolves to the local IP address of the server. If this fails to resolve the issue I would recommend opening a case with support so we can investigate this properly.

That did it.

I can't believe I didn't think of that. I had to do the same thing for the database server when I first set it up.

Now I'm getting a different error but it's due to something with the site certificate, so I'll have to do some digging on that.

If you're receiving TLS/SSL certificate errors then I would recommend looking at this KB article and ensuring the certificate matches the name of the server.
