SSH icon, Putty, and Windows 7

Had it working great on my XP box - used customurl.exe and Putty and it worked like a charm.

Now I've got a new box with Windows 7 and the same procedure to set up the URL handling results in no joy.

It doesn't work with either IE or Chrome on Win7 (and when I say it doesn't work, I mean Putty is not launched).

The funny thing is, I can launch it from the command line:

C:\>CustomURL.exe "ssh://10.8.2.6"

And it fires up Putty just fine. So I have no idea what's going on.

Has anyone got this working with Windows 7?

You ever get this figured out? I just moved to Windows 7 and also can't figure out how to get putty to auto launch with the SSH://. I remember there used to be something on the Content Exchange, but with the new Thwack design, it's impossible to find.

I appreciate your answer, albeit Google found the results for me that same day. You asked for pointers, how about getting search to work correctly? Here's a screenshot of a simple two-word search for "SSH putty" and limiting it to the Content Exchange; zero results.

So, this is a bit confusing.

You are searching the Content Exchange space, which is logical, but the content you are looking for is actually in the Network Performance Monitor space. The Content Exchange space does not actually serve as a content house but as a front page that points you to the individual content exchanges for each product.
