MySQL APM Monitor - what do the columns actually mean?

Just a quick question to make sure I have not miss understood something here so please humor me for asking clarity on the obvious!

What do each of the columns mean, exactly?

Component Name = the name of the component

Statistic = this is the value being returned by the component and is specific to the component query i.e. number, size, kilobytes etc?

Message = ? this is always blank for me

Response Time = is this the response time for the response from the monitor query in milliseconds (or seconds)?

Port = always n/a

Is this right??!

The Message Field is optional depending how the query was written for each ODBC monitor. Normally this field is used to add additional information that's not numeric like table name, or database name as it relates to the component statistic being collected. If the component isn't designed to utilize this field then it's empty.

The Port field doesn't apply to ODBC user experience monitors.

Thanks for the response.

So I am a little confused by some of the statistics being returned, specifically for the Slow Queries MySQL monitor

This returns RED with a statistics value of 29.09K

What does this actually mean as we have triple checked for slow queries and enabled logging and nothing

In the component monitor details you will find the Expert Knowledge for this metric, which explains what Slow Queries means.

This counter returns the number of queries that have taken more than long_query_time seconds. The returned value should be less than 10.

Note: To enable the slow query log, start mysqld with the --log-slow-queries[=file_name] option. The slow query log can be used to find queries that take a long time to execute and are therefore candidates for optimization.
