I'm suspecting my SAN may have some disk latency. I have NPM but I can install SAM. Where do I go to find disk latency by volume in NPM or SAM?
You can install SAM and add Windows VMs as a WMI node. This will measure latency from an OS perspective.
Assuming you have VMware, the better option would be deploy Virtualization Manager, and enable the NPM/SAM-VMan integration to view a storage performance dashboard like below

The device I/O Latency specifically represents latency originating from SAN Storage as shown in this quick video
Performance Analysis with SolarWinds Virtualization Manager - YouTube
where is the chart in SAM that shows the latency from an OS perspective?
It's called avg disk sec/transfer
The Next Level of Server Monitoring - SAM 5.5 Beta 3
and you will find it in the volume details view of a wmi node
can you tell me if that chart is in MS or seconds? I can see a volume at around .05 so would that be 05ms? or .05seconds?
