Just updated a platform to NPM v12.4 and once that was done, I proceeded to deploy a new APE.
After deployment, I was having trouble getting the APE to sync with the database. Confirmed that there weren't any database connectivity or authentication issues.
I then looked into .NET mismatch as being the culprit. I spent several hours manually making sure that .NET versions were the same. Ran Configuration Wizard countless times after a dozen changes. Nothing worked.
I then had a look in the License Manager page and noticed that the new polling engine wasn't listed. Strange I thought, since the polling engine was listed in the Polling Engines page (although down).
I then added a license for the APE in the License Manager page, thinking that might solve the issue - it didn't. I then ran ConfWiz one final time on the newly deployed APE thinking the services should be restarted after adding the license.
That's when it worked! It seems like new APE deployments will only work if you have a valid license and won't give you the option of running APE in trial mode for 30 days.
Am I understanding this correct and is there any chance this could be changed back to how it was before?
