Hi, I have a strange issue with configuration downloads using NCM.
I have a Nortel 470-24T that I need to retrieve its configuration using TFTP (its version doesn't have SSH) when I carry this out from the web console, it kicks back with a general TFTP error. The main problem is though, if I carry out the same job using the back end NCM on the server, I get a message back stating that another TFTP service is running and it is unable to carry out the config download. The server shows no TFTP service running.
If I do this other way around, I get the error using the back end NCM (which invokes the Solarwinds TFTP server) then when I go to the web console from a remote workstation and attempt the config download I get the error that another TFTP service running!
So, whichever attempt is made first (be it remotely or local) stops the other working and when the remote NCM carries out the attempt, I have to reboot the server to clear the TFTP service (that's not evident on the box itself, I've searched services, checked task manager etc!)
One thing though that I haven't ruled out is the Device Command Template, as I'm using the Nortel 450 template for the 470, though the procedure it carries out in obtaining the configuration is the same
