I want to be able to alert on certain windows event. For an example, when a server reboots, an event is written. I want to alert when that event is written so that I am alerted that the server was rebooted. Any help is appreciated.
I have not seen that. The corporation already has a syslog server's implemented. Do you know if Solarwinds supports other vendors of syslog servers other than its own?
In the additional components section of the customer portal is a windows event forwarder, which forwards events to the Orion Syslog server, which you could then create alerts against, have you seen that?
No, we do not currently support that setup. Any chance you can have the corp syslog server forward specific items to Orion?
I will look into that. I will need to speak with the owners of the syslog server to see if they can do that. You state to send to Orion... do you mean the Free Kiwi syslog server, or the built-in syslog server in NPM?
