is there any way to set quiet times for alerts? For instance you know your backup server uses all the CPU from 10PM to 1AM so you don't want alerts during that period but the rest of the day you do.

Anything planned? I think this would be a valuable feature
Agreed. The same concept of "Maintenance Mode" that isn't really present in NPM either (Unmanage Utility doesn't count--it's too static).
+1
You can set this up manually in the alert logic. I'd suggest making use of Custom Properties to set a start and end for the "Quiet Time" if you are planning on implementing this on multiple servers.
We have alert logic in place currently that performs different actions during business hours and during overnight hours.
Would it be possible to share an example?
Yeah, I know about the alert logic, etc, and while that's doable, it isn't as clean and smooth as a system-wide quiescing of polling & alerting (cross-ref to other products like MS System Center Ops Manager).
That said, I'd welcome an example as well. Poking around in Alert Manager > Alert Suppression, I don't see a "current time" or "system time" with which to compare to a custom property on a given node. It'd be great if there was a way to compare it, because then we could set "quiet time" start/stop values on nodes and suppress when greater than "start" and less than "stop".
Interesting concept...
