APM Best Practices

I was wondering if there is any documentation or videos that suggest best practices for use of APM?

It was recently pointed out to me that I was trying to use it incorrectly which is what has led me to this question. I am aware of the technical documentation on how to use the product and make it work but I am more interested in documentation that suggests the best way or most effective way to use the product.

Hi Byron,

I have a document on app management in the content exchange area but it is probably more basic than what you need. I'll put this one on my list as I believe it would be helpful to a lot of Thwackies.

This is a great document but as you suggested, a bit more basic than what I am looking for. This document is labeled "Volume 1", maybe I am looking for "Volume 2"? = )

Volume 2 is on IP SLA, Volume 3 is on NetFlow. The New to Networking series is technology specific rather than product specific. I am starting a series on product implementations though. The first one will be on alerting and alert logic, the second one may be on APM or NTA. Not sure at this point.

I'd LOVE to have an APM cookbook!

I'm comfortable with the module, but I would like to see some "real world" examples, especially for complex applications residing on multiple servers.

Right now, I'm using (and modifying) the included and some shared templates for Exchange, Blackberry Enterprise Server, UX monitors, Active Directory, SQL, and so on. They all work, but I'd like to group and nest things better than what I can do currently.
