Execute wsf script with return value

Hi Community,

We want to migrate our monitoring from Nagios to NPM/APM. Pre-condition herefore is that some of our nagios checks will work with Solarwinds application.
Is there any option to execute external scripts (in my case .wsf file)?

This script counts the number of files with 0KB lenght within a folder and its subfolders. If there is a file with > 1kb then parse the content of this file and show it into APM.
Is it even generally possible to show the return value in APM?

return values in APM have to be numerical statistic data.

I heard there is a program by solarwinds that is supposed to be able to convert most nagios scripts into vbs.

APM supports vbscript and powershell as far as I know, Powershell is a new feature with lots of bugs though, it does not yet work correctly.

Questionario is correct; we have a utility called the Open Source Script Processor that can take Nagios scripts and convert them into APM monitors. Currently it only supports scripts that return a single value, but we're planning on expanding its functionality to support scripts that return multiple values. See this post.

Questionario, if you're having issues with the Powershell Script monitor, could you please open a support ticket? We definitely want to resolve any issues you're having.
