Does anyone know if there's a APM monitor solution that can check HTTP pages? So, the monitor would be *from* the assigned node and to the destination http page as opposed to *from* the poller to the http page.
Thanks!
SEUM was designed to monitor internal web applications and websites from inside your firewall and/or externally (from the outside looking in) and even inside looking out (external hosting/SaaS). In either case this monitoring can be from multiple locations (internal or external). In fact, it's exactly what you're looking for. I suggest contacting sales and taking it for a spin or asking for a demo.
There was a webinar yesterday on an upcoming product SEUM that sounds like a good fit for your question. It's not out yet so there is limited data but I'm sure one of the SW staff can fill you in.
Thanks - I did just see that and read up a little on it before my original post here. The reason I did decide to post here after learning about the SEUM solution is because my goal is to achieve this internally - not outside the network and from the Interwebs. The SEUM solution may be overkill for my needs with this and I'm hopeful that I can achieve this with a script (powershell maybe...?).
I could see that...about 10 years ago we had a script in our NOC that automatically checked the status and looked for key text for a small handful of websites and then emailed if it was down.
It was written by one of our dev gurus so I have no idea how it was architected but it suited our needs.
