File Age Monitor

Just set up a file age monitor but it appears to be using days for the alarm thresholds.

Anyone know how to modify this to use hours or even better minutes? I need to ensure the file in a directory is less than 60 minutes old (Warn) and then if it is 65 minutes old (alarm).

It should be returning the number of hours if you are using the default File Age Monitor template. You would need to convert the data in order to read the data in minutes. So choose the option to convert the data then use the Custom Conversion option and use ${Statistic}*60 to convert the data. This will then allow you to set your warning to 60 and critical to 65. If it is reporting by days, you can still use custom conversion but with ${Statistic}*1440.

So I just learned the client added another loop to the issue, wildcard file names LOL. So I pinged our script team and have them trying to figure out how to make that a reality. Thanks again for the help,

That one ought to be fun. If they are able to get something sorted out, you may be able to use the same conversion. I'd be interested to know what they come up with.

I am a novice user at best but I will be sure to share anythign they come up with. One of the best things about the SolarWinds products is Thwack and Loop1. Used you guys for 2 weeks at my old job (serve.com).

This is a script that another thread looking for the same result came up with but I have no clue if it was working or not. Hopefully the guys over here will come up with something. Of course my suggestion was to make the filename static but that went over like a lead baloon.
