Admin Account

I'm a new engineer here at my shop, and I've found that we own a Solarwinds server that hasn't been used in quite a while. I spoke with the management about the server and I was told that the device hasn't been used because the last engineer that had the password left without giving any information.

I'm afraid to reinstall the NPM because I do not have the product license information. I also do not have the admin account information. I've found a post on how to delete the encrypted line out of the netperfmon.db file to reset the password to blank, but when I do this, I get this error after logging in:

Orion Website Error

An error has occurred with the Orion website.

System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()   at ClassicSiteProxy.Login(HttpContext context, String username, String password)   at Login.DoLoginAction(String username, String password)   at Login.InitiateLogin()   at Login.OnLoad(EventArgs e)   at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive()   at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to start populating the device with our network objects.

Have you tried running Configuration Wizard? The admin password resides in DB, so deleting line from netperfmon.db won't help. Running ConfigurationWizard should repair the problem.

try opening sql and using "update Accounts Set Password = '107-418190326507573368052-0229-09646' where AccountID = 'Admin'"

Hopefully that will change the password to "admin"

Just tried it... no luck.

Still having the same error message... maybe the DB is corrupt? Here's what I'm getting:

This was the fix. I ran the configuration wizard against the database and website and it started working. The post before this one had changed the password to "admin", so that was the preliminary fix.

but i have this problem too, i haven't access to admin password so i do that solution for solving, i'm running configuration wizard for both database and webpage and after that i faced some error.

so would you please let me know how i can recovery or reset admin password?
