Inventory

When you schedule a night inventory what type of inventory is that? I have that scheduled and when I try to run a report I get an error and it says that an "full" inventory needs to run. I thought the nightly inventory is a full one..no?
It would be nice to run a full inventory each night and some sort or partial one every few hours. A partial one could inclucde arp/route tables/up down status.
What I'm looking for is the similar functionality as Ciscoworks where you can schedule major and minor acquisitions. Again maybe have a minor acquisition every 4 hours to get updated arp/route infor used for the find address and then a major acquisition once day to get full stats.

Bryan,
That is a great suggestion! Right now the inventory settings are global to the application, so any inventory that gets run is the same inventory. I agree it would be very useful to have different things collected at different intervals.
The message "A full inventory may need to be run" come about when you try to run a report for which no data has been collected. More than likely the particular inventory type has not been selected to be run. You can change the items collected during inventory by selecting the Inventory menu, Inventory Settings option.
Our "Start Full Inventory" option takes those settings, and collects data from all the nodes, as opposed to some selected subset.
Hope this helps,
Greg
