I'm not sure if I understand the default threshold for the "Average Time to Process a Free Busy Request" in the "Exchange 2007 Client Access Role WMI Counters Template" that ships with APM 3.0. By default the the "Statistic Critical Threshold" is the only configured threshold in this WMI monitor and it's default value is "less than 5.00". Now when I look up the description for this counter it reads.
"Average Time to Process a Free Busy Request is the average time to process a free busy request in seconds. One request may contain multiple mailboxes. Free busy responses do not have meeting suggestions."
Now wouldn't a lower value be better then a higher value in this instance? It seems to me that the threshold value/s for this monitor template might need to be reevaluated, or I need to be better understand what these values represent since I believe that at least in this case, the default threshold is improperly configured. Thoughts?
