Removing a node from NCM but not NPM

Noob question.

Our NCM installation has all of our NPM nodes listed in it, however I only want the manage the Cisco nodes.

Is it possible to delete nodes from NCM but not NPM? I have tried finding it myself, looked in help and looked here but I'm just not getting it.

Help please? Thanks.

If I understand your question correctly, the information to do this is in the Orion NCM Administrator Guide. You can find it on physical page 40 of the doc, in the Unmanaging and Remanaging Nodes section of the Managing Nodes chapter.

Uh, yeah... Marie; ... the Unmanaging and Remanaging Nodes was page 73(document), physical page 91... and uh; I'm going to need you to come in on Saturday to finish those TPS reports. yeah

This is how I remove nodes from NCM, but not NPM

Configs > Config Summary > Manage NCM Nodes > Group by Vendor > Select All >Remove Nodes from NCM

Select YES and then check NPM - the node should still exist in NPM but not NCM

MY issue may be slightly different. As I have a node listed, and it says it is NOT Licensed by NCM (No).

When I go to add the Nodes to NCM, I get an error that says "Nodes with IP Addresses x.x.x.x already exist in NCM."

When I try to remove the nodes the error is, "Selected Nodes already removed from NCM."

Have you sync'd you DBs? You can do this by going to Settings>NCM Settings> Sync Nodes

No; and the main concern here is triggering alerts when nodes that do not exist anymore get put back into NPM. I have to schedule the process because for us it is a change to the production system. At least that is the way the process reads to us, as it would place the nodes back into NPM. Then we would be able to remove them from NCM, and NPM.

Open that node > edit properties > on the bottom of page select NCM to NO.
