How can I view and select Application Monitors with 'unknown' status for mass deletion

Question

We have about 200 instances of AppInsight for SQL that Sonar Discovery found and automatically created that are not working. I'm looking for a way to filter the application monitors in application manager by status ( unknown, good, critical, etc ) so that I can select all of the 'unknown' ones and delete them.

Is there a way to do this? Or will I need to manually go through them one by one to make sure that I do no accidentally delete the ones that are working?

There's not really an easy way to do this.  One thing I have done in the past to try to get around this limitation is to create a node custom property and copy the status value to that custom property.  Then you can group by that custom property.  So, in this case, you might create a node custom property called AppStatus.  Then, you would run a SQL query to copy the application status to the custom property column.  Then, on the Manage Application Monitors view, you can group by the Node AppStatus custom property.  One thing you have to account for in this case is situations where you have multiple applications per node (if they all aren't unknown).  Also, if you are not familiar with working in the database, this might not be the solution for you.

One thing that would be nice in the Manage Application Monitors view would be if you could group by application properties or custom properties in addition to node properties.

It won't be enough just to delete them.  They come back next discovery.

You have to painstakingly go into the discovery results, drill into the servers, and select to ignore them from future discoveries.
