Can anyone tell me how the 95th precentile is calculated on the Total Bytes Transferred chart? What are the data points? How frequently is this polling?

Also, how can I duplicate this data using the Report Writer?
I have some very recent expierence with this. Don't use report writer. If you have a network of over about 1000 nodes the reports will either time out or just give you tabular data. There is a built in function for Network Wide Total Bytes Transfered that can be added by adding it to any summary page you already have or making a custom summary page and adding it there. Now having said all this if you run the report against the last 30 days it will probably also time out. THat is because it pulls in all the up to date, hour by hour and day by day data in the database. Since the default for archinving the up to minute data is 14 days, the display will choke on trying to query all that detailed data before it even gets to the rest of the 30 days. So you should edit the chart and put in a start date that is beyond that archive window. In another words your 30 days would start 14 day before the current date and the end date would be 30 days beyond that. I worked with the developers in Ireland for about two weeks till we arrived at this conclusion. I have over 2000 nodes. Also set your sample interval equal to or greater than every 6 hours.
Hi stucke--
This KB article explains how the 95th percentile is calculated.
Thanks,DH
Thank you! I am familar with how 95th percentile is calculated. What I am need to know is what database is the numbers being pulled from? How often is the polling time? Now after reading what jeffnorton posted and I actually seeing the data for the whole month?
There are only 19 nodes that I polling data from and our Orion is set to poll every 9 minutes from the node.
