Incorrect bandwidth statements on serial interface

Question

I have several serial subinterfaces on Cisco routers that are reporting as 128k Transmit & Receive in Solar Winds although I have verified that both ends of the connection are configured for 384k.

We have deleted and re-created the nodes several times in SW without any change.

Thoughts?

(Un)Fortunately Orion does not rediscover the bandwidth on an interface when doing the periodic rediscovery of each node. If it did, then any interfaces which have customized bandwidth statements would be changed every rediscovery.
We have 30Mb ATM PVC's on an e100 interface on our routers.
I set the bandwidth to 30Mbps in order to accurately display the %Util.

The downside of course is when a server is upgraded from 100M to 1Gig, the switch port still shows 100M. You have to manually go into System Manager to update the bandwidth.

This is going to sound like an awefully dumb question, but is the bandwidth as reported by SNMP correct?  If not, you may need to modify the bandwidth statements on your interfaces accordingly.

SW should then catch the new bandwidth during interface rediscovery.

The only catch to changing the bandwidth settings directly in the SQL database is that you have to stop the SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor service prior to making any changes. Once all the Interfaces have been updated in the database, restart the service and the changes will be saved.
