We are in the process of migrating to a new (as of yet undefined) solution for CMDB. I'm a big fan of the NCM module, but I'm wondering -- is it enough for a complete data centre CMDB? While NCM is able to track configuration, and does it quite while, does it really have the ability to link CI's with services in true CMDB fashion?
If you use NCM, do you link it with another product?
If not, what do you use to leverage the data in NPM, from an inventory and configuration perspective, to create a true CMDB?
Any and all discussions on this are welcome as I've killed more than a few neurons trying to wrap my head around this.
