Config Compliance

All,

I just started using solar winds...go easy.

I'm trying to put together a Config policy for switches.

When I click on my test report I get : "Did not search any device configs, no devices were selected."

The message is clear to me, but I don't see where I select devices. Where is that at?

Edit :

Under Manage Policies -> My test Policy

Select Nodes : I have the "All Nodes" radial button selected.

This will also happen if you built the rules/policies and forgot to assign them to the report. Even though you select the devices to do it on in "Policies", you have to assign that policy to a report to see it.

Go in to "Edit Report" and make sure you have policies where it says "Assigned Policies", like below...

You will need to download a configuration from one of your devices first.

Navigate to config tab > configuration management > select a device. Move up just a bit and click download.

You may also need to configure credentials on your devices.

Right hand corner of your screen > Global Device Defaults > connection profiles > create a profile and edit the information requested per your environment.

Go to Network Tab > In the windows below look for "Manage Nodes". Select a node > edit Properities > at the bottom you will want to select "Manage by NCM" YES and select your connection profile in the selections below.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

We already have credentials set up and devices being managed. I want to know why I'm not seeing policy violations on the policy I set up.

You do have configurations downloaded, right.

Also, make sure you go to Config tab > Compliance > "Manage Reports" and click "Update All" button.
