NPM 11.5.3 alerts

Hi,

our solarwinds platform wasn't well managed for a long time but now am I am trying to tune/refine it to our needs so that we can monitor our network properly.

I have just realised that we have 7 years of alerts union acknowledged basically thousands of them.

Does any one know how to get rid of them in one go? as at the moment when I delete some the old one appears and we receive email notifications for those alerts as if they are new alerts.

I will appreciate ur help on this.

I'm not 100% sure what you are asking about but I will try to help.  Are you trying to force clear or acknowledge the alerts?  Also how specific/customized are the alerts?  You could disable a bunch at one time by going to  settings > manage alerts.  Try to be careful though, you don't want to accidentally disable something that is important.  I can understand your pain, as when I started where I am there were a lot of active alerts just sitting that people ignored.  I had to try to figure out what didn't really mean much to people, and then I realized another problem was duplicate alerts to go through.

Depending on the size of your environment, there is no quick fix to fine tuning anything in the Solarwinds products.  The awesome thing is that the products are very customizable, and sometimes I feel like my imagination is the limit for monitoring.  The double edged sword to this is that it is very time consuming and a good bit of trial and error to get monitoring to where you want it.
