Line Status Color for "Unknown" state

We have just implemented Orion Version 7.8 on a dedicated high-end Windows 2003 server. In Map Maker it appears that we are limited to assigning one interface to a network link for monitoring, so we have created two links, each one assigned an interface from different ends of the link. Problem: When and interface goes down, one of the links goes "RED" - this is good. When this happens, the other link stays "GREEN" even though the interface it has assigned to it goes into an "unknown" status. Shouldn't it turn "YELLOW"????
Also, it there a way to rotate the labels on network links??
