How to display custom NCM fields in NPM Node Details

I have 2 custom fields in NCM Inventory (RFID Tag and Altiris Link). These custom fields will be populated (by some poor inventory person) with data I would like to display in the Node Details in NPM.

Is this possible ?

as far as I know.....
there is no easy/clean way to do this.

The node ID in NPM has no correlation to the nodeID in ncm...besides managed IP address.

I've written SQL code to populate custom fields in NCM from NPM and back (I think I posted it all in content share). basically I wanted to get the IP/Mask for an interface to show up on the web page for an interface, as well as a list of static routes.

Do you have a SQL person or are you the one?

get with me if you need more help (but you'll have to be patient...really slammed lately).

Unfortunately all of our SQL folks are busy on a production deadline and won't be available until late December.

I was hoping for a less "messy" way of doing this but if writing SQL code to do it is the only way then I don't want to take a chance on putting in something I don't understand very well or can maintain.

Once again thank you for your offer. This forum is one of the reasons I stay with Solarwinds.

Well a quick and dirty way would be to add two custom fields in NPM, via the custom field editor and get your man to add this data to these while it is being done in NCM. Then create a resource to view these custom fields in the Node details page

Otherwise the SQL tigger approach would be the best best for soem kind of automation.

Might you be able to work with pre-existing fields, and simply change their data? For example, you might not need the info in the System Contact and System location fields. If you populated the devices with the info you want in those fields, you could report and sort on them.

I'm running the latest NCM V7 and this functionality is still not there?

I'd even settle for a simple link between the NCM Details page & the NPM details page.

Solarwinds has done some strange stuff. The NCM node details resource does not show the System Name.

There is no way to edit the NCM node details fields whcih are displayed, short of creating a new custom NCM node details aspx page.

Linking between the 2 views should not be this difficult.

I tried creating a filter on the Node Status Report view with the variable being the IP address, but even that variable is not passed on in the NCM view.
Here's a custom HTML resource I added to the NCM node details page, but this fails as well.
