Is there a setting that I can change to keep the web console from flashing when the up/down status changes on user ports? I want to monitor the traffic but don't need to know if user interfaces are up or down.
Same here. I'm tracking a bunch of serial connections for phone lines, which normally show as being down. Management gets concerned when they see things flashing.
This feature has been requested for years - not sure when we might see this, but it would be nice to have, especially in the case of dial-backup interfaces.
So how would you expect that to work? Would you want to suppress blinking across the board? Or would you want to specify particular interfaces to ignore?
dcleompte,
I would like to specify particular interfaces to ignore for blinking and notifying up/down status. I would also like to keep the stats/traffic of these ports. I don't care about the up/down status of user ports, but I do care about the up/down status of uplink ports.

Same here, we have allot of both Fiber to the home and xDSL ports we would like to monitor, same need as the other guys, we need to track usage, but not status.. should be a UNI port mode. I'm not monitoring any Tx ports with users, but I have a lot of friends who would like to do that also, but i skews the maps and status of the nodes. (Next step would be a possibility to do this automatic on the Cisco Metro series when listing the resources, when orion see that the interface is in UNI mode, hey it's really really late Friday evening in Norway, so why not share my dreams)
